If you’re looking for a lovely function venue with inside and outside space for you and your guests to enjoy – then look no further! This charming pub is steeped in history and character, and is the perfect spot for any special occasion all year round. Private hire is available for 30-250 guests, making this one of Brighton & Hove’s largest venues for your celebration or garden party. Birthday Parties, Wedding Receptions, Engagements, Anniversaries, Baby Showers, Corporate Events & more, if you can throw a party for it – we’ve done it!

The huge south-facing garden and pub have been cleverly configured to split into TWO separate and private spaces for you to choose from. We only hold one private event at a time, so that we can provide the best service possible to you and your guests. There are NO HIRE FEES as we operate on a minimum spend basis. Minimum spend amounts vary depending on the day/time of the week and month of the year, so please get in touch for a quote for your chosen event date.

Suitable for up to 150 guests (50 seated inside or 150 outside)

Group Area Bookings (Non-exclusive)

Suitable for up to 30 guests inside the pub

If you’re not quite sure you need a large private space with all the bells and whistles, we have several seating areas inside the venue that are perfect for more intimate and relaxed celebrations. The tables will be reserved for you and your guests only, with the rest of the venue open to the public as normal.
A deposit is required to secure your booking which can be used towards food or drink costs on the day.
There are no hire fees or minimum spend requirement.

Our experienced head chef has designed fantastic menus for Canapés, Spring/Summer BBQs, Autumn/Winter 3-Course Meals and Buffets to include Afternoon Tea and much more!
Every event we host is different from the last, so we aim to be as flexible as we can to make your day as special as it can be.

Freshly-made Cocktails, Wine, Champagne, premium Spirits and Shots, Craft Beers, draught Lager, Cider and Ale are all available, along with freshly-brewed Tea & Coffee. Welcome drinks and Table drinks can be provided upon request, why not make your guests feel like VIP’s with a glass of Pimm’s or Prosecco on arrival?

TRAVEL & PARKING

We are in Parking Zone L. There is free on-street parking on all surrounding roads from 12:00- 18:00 & 19:00 onwards. Resident permit-only bays operate 11:00-12:00 and 18:00-19:00, 7 days a week including bank holidays.
