FUNERAL RECEPTIONS
At The Garden Bar, we understand the importance of a smooth-running day to allow you to spend the time on what really matters – remembering your loved one with family and friends. Our dedicated team have decades of experience, and are here to sensitively guide you through the wake planning process, as well as ensuring both the set up and the day itself go ahead as planned,
so that you can relax and reminisce.
There are several options to choose from in our lovely pub & gardens, depending on the size of the space required. We offer private hire for up to 150 guests, 7 days a week. There are no hire fees or minimum spend requirements (excluding Friday/Saturday evenings), as we want to make this process as easy as possible for you. A security deposit is required to confirm your booking.
Private Hire of The West Wing & Garden
Suitable for up to 150 guests (50 seated inside or 150 outside)
- Private entrance (Portland Road)
- Fully stocked and staffed Bar.
- Access to the large private Garden.
- BBQ Pit (May-Sept only).
- Decked Terrace seating with Parasols.
- 7 x covered & heated garden booths.
- Space for a Marquee on the Terrace.
- Fairy lights throughout the pub.
- Air Conditioning for the Summer months.
- Open Fireplace for the Winter months.
- 3 TV Screens for photos & videos.
- Private Toilets & Baby Change facilities.
- In-house sound system (for staff use only)
Private Hire of The East Wing
Suitable for 30-90 guests (40 seated inside or 90 outside)
- Private entrance (Mansfield Road)
- Fully stocked and staffed Bar.
- Access to Apple Tree Garden (May-Sept only).
- Fairy lights throughout.
- Air Conditioning for the Summer months.
- Open Fireplace for the Winter months.
- 3 TV Screens for photos & videos.
- Flower wall for the perfect photo backdrop.
- Private Toilets & Baby Change facilities.
- In-house sound system (for staff use only)
Group Area Bookings (Non-exclusive)
Suitable for up to 30 guests inside the pub
If you’re not quite sure you need a large private space with all the bells and whistles, we have several seating areas inside the venue that are perfect for more intimate and relaxed celebrations. The tables will be reserved for you and your guests only, with the rest of the venue open to the public as normal.
A deposit is required to secure your booking which can be used towards food or drink costs on the day.
There are no hire fees or minimum spend requirement.

Our experienced head chef has designed fantastic menus for Canapés, Spring/Summer BBQs,
Autumn/Winter 3-Course Meals and Buffets to include Afternoon Tea and much more.
Freshly-made Cocktails, Wine, premium Spirits and Shots, Craft Beers, draught Lager, Cider and Ale are all available, along with freshly-brewed Tea & Coffee.
Welcome drinks and Table drinks can be provided upon request.

TRAVEL & PARKING
We are in Parking Zone L. There is free on-street parking on all surrounding roads from 12:00- 18:00 & 19:00 onwards. Resident permit-only bays operate 11:00-12:00 and 18:00-19:00, 7 days a week including bank holidays.
